Indigenous Futures in Motion

At the iNdigital space in TIFF Bell Lightbox during the Imaginative Film Festival 2023, we curated a motion-reactive display that offered an interactive experience. This installation aimed to illustrate the symbiosis of an indigenous future intertwined with nature. By incorporating motion-reactive storytelling, the display encouraged participants to engage with the harmony between nature and technology. When individuals moved their hands in front of the display, the imagery on the screen unveiled a harmonious scene behind the veil, symbolizing the interconnectedness of indigenous communities with the natural world. The concept envisioned a world where technology serves the community's benefit, emphasizing a utilitarian perspective over profit-driven capitalism. Through this installation, we sought to uplift the voices of our community, portraying technology as a tool for positive impact and communal well-being.
