Beyond The Canvas

An Afrofuturism AR Gallery Showcasing Latinx and Black Innovation

“Beyond the Canvas” displayed at the Chatsworth Artisan Festival, fuses AR paintings with the afrofuturism aesthetic to bring the elements of the painting to life in 3D. Visitors engage with the artwork through their mobile devices, activating 3D elements that emerge from the canvas. This pioneering project challenges biases against minorities in art and technology and showcases that diverse cultures are not only foundational and forward-thinking but are also actively innovating and creating new experiences for the future. We were nominated as finalists in the 2022 Snapchat AR Lens Fest Competition and established ourselves as official Snap AR Partners.
